Introducing Girl Scout Brownie Jayda. Jayda is a very dedicated Brownie. She enjoys helping me plan meetings and helps make the preperations to get ready for each meeting. She enjoys our trips the most, but has a lot of fun working on badges. She was top seller this year for cookie sales. 600 boxes!! Go Jayda! She froze outside running many cookie booths this year. I am very proud of the Girl Scout she has become. Her confidence and courage has grown as a result of our brownie activities.

Flash back to daisies...
Here Jayda is showing off her Daisy smock. As Daisy's we completed the petal badges as well as community service events. One of our most memorable events was when we made pizza's at our local pizzeria and took them to "game day" at our local assisted living complex for seniors. It was a lot of fun. The girls had a tour of the pizzeria as well as actually making and cooking our pizza's and our guests at game day love our pizza too.
This meeting Jayda was our attendance keeper. The girls call attendance themselves. It gives them an opportunity to run a portion of our meeting.
At this meeting we worked more on our Fair Play badge. The girls took an old game and came up with new rules. We then went outside to test out our communication skills by teaching the other girls each of their new games. Then came the fun we got to try out all our the really creative ideas. The pictures below are of Jayda teaching Animal Tag to the other girls. A big part of fair play is that everyone knows and plays by the same rules. The girls were given the opportunity to ask questions before the start to make sure it was fair for all. A lesson learned here was that it is okay to change the rules as long as everyone playing knows all of the rules.
The girls had some really good ideas for fun changes to old games. Jayda's game was animal tag. The "it" person, the zoo keeper, tags another and instead of being out they were given an animal name to act out as they became a part of the "it" team. We had elephants, cats, dogs, snakes, cheetahs, monkeys and much much more runnin around. It was a lot of fun.
