Color A Smile is a non-profit organization, right here in New Jersey, that delivers colored masterpieces to thousands of people across the United States! Wow! That's a lot of people.
I know there are many people living in hospitals, nursing homes, or assisted living centers, or people who are just living alone, that really appreciate a warm gesture and colorful masterpiece to hang up and bring on a SMILE :)
I knew this was an organization our girls would love to support. Of course, because everyone loves to color! Click here http://www.colorasmile.org/index.html
This is our opening activity. We use this activity to fill the time while the girls are arriving. They love doing them and they turn out so cute.
Provided on the site is a Young Artists page. This page has all of the details needed to become artists. It's extremely easy. We color the pictures in, I save up a bundle and then mail them in. There are no donations required, no signing up, or required time to mail them in.
They provide categorized ready to color pages. That are separated alphabetically by holidays, seasons, and various times of year. For most themes there are a few pictures to choose from as well as blank pages with just a cheerful heading. They're a nice option for the girls who like to draw. These all can easily be printed out.
Here are examples of each.
